Hi, Just bought this Bass off of Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eB.....EWNX:IT&item=280291858891 I should receive it tomorrow. Read quite a bit here and other places for guidance. I paid $525 for it, I was surprised that it was not bid up higher. Is the economy slowing down the interest or did I pay to much? I know it has an extra hole drilled in the ID plate for a strap holder I am guessing. Otherwise it appears to be in good shape. I don't see a lot of info on these later metal necks, ie Stagemasters. Any comments welcome. Glen

Hey,
I have lived here on the Jersey Shore, near Neptune, the land of Danelectro and Kramer, my whole life.
Your Stagemaster is a great bass for that price. You didn't pay too much, just there still isn't super amounts of desire for metalnecks. Kramers have a specific audience.
I just got myself a Hartke XL-4 made in Asbury. It rocks! I love metalnecks, especially those made in my backyard!
Enjoy. If you need more info, email Paul Unkert at Unk Guitars/The Guitar Guy in Toms River, NJ. He was the Kramer plant manager during the time your bass was made.
Have a great one!

Thanks Tom, I also have a TB2000 that I am refinishing, was already repainted when I bought it. It was a great deal so I could not pass it up. The Kramer I bought just because it seemed like a decent deal and to be able to compare the 2 side by side. It will probably see more playing time than the Bean in our friends and family garage jams just because of the value. Glen

I saw that one and I believe you will be happy with it. The schaller roller bridge addresses the string spacing of the G & E strings potentially sliding off the neck in aggressive technical playing and the Double J bridge pickup should address the weak Jazz pickup of earlier Lumies. Over all, I believe that the features of the Stagemaster Lumies were a plus, even though I have never had the pleasure of playing one! LOL!
